METAL SLUG

April, 1996 MVS

An iconic arcade hit and the memorable debut title in the Metal Slug series. METAL SLUG is an action game that puts you in control of player characters as they jump, shoot, and lob grenades to mow down enemies in each stage. Use the helpful items you earn as you save "hostages" that you encounter and increase the firepower of your weapon, or hop into the all-purpose Metal Slug tank, which offers the key to wresting control of the world from the enemy and completing your mission.

METAL SLUG 2

February, 1998 MVS

This second installment has the same basic feel of play as its predecessor, but takes the series to its next logical level. From the two player characters of Marco and Tarma, your options double to four with the addition of Eri and Fio! Along with the Metal Slug, you can also take control of the new Camel Slug! There are even all-new elements like traps that change player characters into mummies! Watch your step!

METAL SLUG X

March, 1999 MVS

The Metal Slug series advances further with METAL SLUG X! This title adds a variety of elements to the METAL SLUG 2 game system, such as new items like the Iron Lizard (which explodes on enemies wherever they may run to) and the Drop Shot (which fires shots that bounce along the battlefield). Thanks to the completely overhauled placement of enemies and bosses, this game offers a map that can't be cleared in a single sitting even by those who breezed through the previous title. Characters can also change in this title—pick up too many food items and you'll pay for it "big" time!

With more vehicles, items, and enemies than ever before, plus gorgeously detailed graphics that received copious praise in gaming magazines both in Japan and overseas, METAL SLUG 3 was arguably the most complete Metal Slug experience at the time of its release!
